On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to:
+ Define and differentiate the terms school culture and school climate, and apply a culture capture model to investigate and define the culture and climate within own school environment.
+ Research and document the traditions and history of the school and reflect on the impact of history and tradition on the development of culture.
+ Research and document the significance of school culture on the wellbeing of staff and students.
+ Outline and explain the need for alignment of vision, values and activities in building a sustainable and resilient school culture.
+ Recognise the benefits of using a planned, structured and team based approach to changing and/or building culture in your school.
+ Reflect on the skills of an effective change agent and apply models of change to assist with personal reactions to culture change.
+ Plan supportive strategies to build shared values and guide decision making during culture change.
